Doctor: Good morning! How can I help you today?
Patient: Hi there. I’ve been feeling really under the weather lately. I think I might have caught something.
Doctor: I’m sorry to hear that. Let’s figure out what’s going on. Can you describe your symptoms?
Patient: Well, I’ve had a runny nose, a sore throat, and a bit of a cough. Also, my head is pounding.
Doctor: I see. How long have you been experiencing these symptoms?
Patient: It’s been about a week now. I thought it might get better on its own, but it’s not improving.
Doctor: Okay. I’ll check your vital signs first. Could you please roll up your sleeve for the blood pressure cuff?
Patient: Sure thing.
Doctor: (checks blood pressure) Your blood pressure is normal. Now, let’s talk about your medical history. Have you had any allergies or major illnesses before?
Patient: No, not really. I’m usually pretty healthy.
Doctor: Alright. I’m going to listen to your lungs and check your throat. (uses stethoscope)
Patient: (takes a deep breath) Is everything okay?
Doctor: Well, your lungs sound clear, but your throat does look a bit red. It seems like you might have a viral infection. I’ll prescribe some medication to help with the symptoms.
Patient: Medication sounds good. What should I do about work? I’ve been missing quite a few days.
Doctor: It’s important to rest, so I’d recommend taking a few more days off. Hydrate well, get plenty of sleep, and take the prescribed medicine. If things don’t improve in a few days, come back for a follow-up.
Patient: Okay, thanks, doctor. I’ll follow your advice.
Doctor: You’re welcome. If you have any concerns or if things worsen, don’t hesitate to give us a call.
Patient: I will. Thanks again.
